As a stoner, I don’t prefer crowds. That’s not to say that I can’t do them; more of, I try to avoid them when possible. With that in mind, I wrote this article for stoners who look at life through a creative lens.
Baxter Boulevard

Whether you’re walking, riding shotgun, or being chauffeured, a beautiful sight to see during all 4 seasons is Baxter Boulevard. It is a gorgeous parkway that rides along the Back Cove in Portland. What started in 1895, has now developed into a park that includes 30 acres along with a +2-mile pathway that is perfect for a stroll or bike ride while overlooking the bay. Surrounded by lush trees and natural looking landscape makes for a picturesque location.
Portland Head Light

Less than 6 miles away is Cape Elizabeth, home of the Portland Head Light House. It was constructed in the late 1700’s, and rises nearly 100 feet tall! From this point, you’ll be able to see numerous other light houses in the distance. Locals and tourists can be found here, just be wary of the time you go if you want to avoid families / young children. It typically isn’t too busy but crowds can appear on nice days. Adjacent to the lighthouse is Fort Williams Park, full of interesting war history. Boats are able to take you on tours around the cape if you’d like to get out on the water for different perspectives. It’s another must-see peaceful and picturesque location.
Portland Museum of Art

In between Baxter Boulevard and the Portland Head Light is the Portland Museum of Art. Tickets ARE required to be admitted due to Covid-19 but it is free for anyone under 22, and it’s free for everyone on Fridays (tickets are still required to avoid crowding). It is closed Monday & Tuesdays but open the other 5 days of the week. It’s the perfect setting to walk around with a nice high, appreciating and digesting the art. With the limited number of guests allowed into the museum and the peaceful setting, I felt it deserved a nice spot on this list.
