Best Activities to do around the State of Maine

There are many activities to do in the state of Maine, but which ones are best suited for us stoners? Locations that often avoid crowds and “judging eyes”, as well as not breaking the bank.

Moxie Falls

If you’re looking for more of a walk or hike, Moxie Falls is the perfect location to check out. Located in West Fork, in northwestern Maine, lies this little beauty. Having a 100-foot waterfall makes it Maines highest waterfall. This park is big enough that you rarely run into others, especially after a recent rainfall, which is the best time to check it out! This waterfall can dry up to a small stream during the drier weather but fresh after a good rain is perfect to see the power and flow of this waterfall. Any time of the year is a good time to check it out, but fall would be by far the best time with the fall foliage. Not running into many other people makes it a nice area to smoke or enough your high.

Lake Sebago

Not wanting to do as much walking but want to still spending some time in the great outdoors? Lake Sebago near Windham is a very scenic area. It is Maines second biggest lake, consisting of numerous beaches, overlooks and trails. The beaches can get busy during good weather but it’s all about timing. Any time of the year is a good time to visit this beautiful lake; between the warmth and growth that occurs with spring, or the summer with the lush foliage, fall with the changes that autumn brings, or winter during a snowy day with ice starting to form and the trees being snow covered. This is an ideal location to pop up a hammock and enjoy just being.

Stephen Kings House

Maybe you’re not feeling like doing any walking at all and you just want to enjoy the ride. I’ve been there too, which is why I would highly recommend checking out one of the best authors of the 21st century house, Stephen King. His house looks like one you’d imagine in one of his books, with the dated but grand architecture. From the bats on his fence, to the obscure state out front, it very much fits his character. There are tours that come here but they move along quickly to stay on track. This is a very picturesque location that should be added to the bucket list if you’re in the area.

There are lots of other indoor activities around the area but in the age of COVID-19, many of them are temporarily closed. In the meantime, I would recommend you check out these locations while you can, with many individuals and families opting to stay home during this time. I hope you enjoy adventuring around Maine as much as I did!

Happy Adventuring.
