Packing your Stash Bag

For the first few years of smoking, it took me a minute to figure out my rhythm with smoking. I always found myself forgetting some key element when circling up with friends. After years of building the habits, I thought I’d share some of my kit items with you.

How many times have you smoked with someone who “lips” the piece? If you haven’t been around someone who has, make sure you’re not the one who is doing the lipping. What is lipping you might ask? Lipping is when you put too much of your mouth / lips on a piece, whether it’s glass, paper or any other medium. It ruins it for the next person, get a piece that’s been slobbered on. An easy solution for this is getting a silicone mouthpiece that you conveniently wear like a lanyard. It’s a game changer also if you are feeling under the weather and don’t want to get anyone else sick, or if you are just a germaphobe in general. They generally cost between $5-$20, and they don’t go bad on you.

For those of you worried about what you’re putting in your lungs, they also have silicone mouthpiece filters, to help catch any unwanted resin buildup that could occur in your mouth and lungs. You never realize how much buildup can occur in your lungs until you use a filter and see how gunked up it gets. You can find a 10 pack for less than $10 at most places where you can find the silicone mouthpieces at (I buy mine online or at tradeshows). These are used for when smoking flower or oil. It’s not really necessary when vaping, as it’s pretty clean smoking in the first place.

For those of you that always forget a lighter, quit it. Nobody loves when you steal a lighter. Pack one up in your kit so you never leave without one when smoking in other places. I personally paint the bottom of my lighters with glow in the dark nail polish. The first reason being, it’s easier to find in the dark or low lighting places. The second being, when someone tries to debate me on who’s lighter it is, I simply ask, “Is the bottom glow in the dark?”. I’ve never been failed since painting the bottoms. And when friends find they have a lighter that’s glow in the dark at home or in their pocket, they recall “Hey, that’s (H)Ashley’s”. Super inexpensive way to keep track of your lighters.

Smokers in general often get dry lips, whether it’s just from dehydration or from having dry air pass by their lips. An easy fix to this is to pack some chap stick / lip balm in your kit. It feels very refreshing after a smoke session to lather up the lips. Plus, if you’re out and about, it helps to put together a cleaner look, not being so ashy and chapped.

Speaking of after smoke sessions, there’s a solid chance your breath is going to be rank. Whether it smells like smoke, or just shitty in general, gum and mints are a smart item to pack into your kit. Even if it’s not for you, there’s a solid chance a stoner friend in proximity will need it. It’s a win win for everyone; you not having to endure their stinky breath and for them, not having to be embarrassed or self-conscious of their breath.

My final recommendation to pack in your kit is a pocket-sized speaker. I often found myself enjoying the vibes while circled up but there was always an element missing. After seeing a friend pull out a speaker, it hit me! Why hadn’t I ever packed my small speaker along?! It doesn’t have to be loud, nor the focus. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a soft beat in the background to help fill the silence that can occur. Plus, if you’re smoking a water piece, it can help to drown out the burbling sound that it can make (if you’re trying to be more inconspicuous). Of course, this is optional and depends on the size bag or kit you have, but it is a great item to have when you want it when on the go.

If you have any other great items to pack in the smoke kit, comment below! I’d love to add to my collection. Sharing is caring people ♥
